82nd/Foster Hospitality Space for Women is a project of 82ndCARES Coalition, a grass-roots network of 82nd Avenue area residents and allies who support the women living and working along the 82nd Avenue and other parts of Portland, Oregon.

82ndCARES Coalition was founded in Summer 2008, when many residents became concerned about the level of hostility directed by the police, City Hall, and some of our neighbours against the women who work on the 82nd Avenue. We believe that the solution to "the problem" of "rampant prostitution activity" on our street is not more jail time, but more housing, healthcare, childcare, education, good jobs, and economic and social justice.

82ndCARES Coalition is a member of Sex Worker Outreach Coalition, which promotes the basic human rights and personal safety for all individuals working in the sex industry.
